Birdy Writing and Speaking Up
This week's writing nuggets have a mellow vibe - a gentle writing guide and a chilled out open mic for writers in Waterford.
Nugget For You: Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
There’s a lot of pressure at this time of year to go all guns blazing with your ambitions. But I’m sensing that a lot of people are fed up with that pressure. Take a gentler approach to achieving your writing ambitions by picking up a copy of a book called Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott.
It’s inspiring, funny, and shows you that you carry all the writing ideas you need within you. Find out more about Bird by Bird here.
My Own Nugget: Speak Up Open Mic 30 January
I’m delighted that our Speak Up open mics and workshops are back on the road. These events are ideal for writers who haven’t read their work in public much before and want to boost their confidence in a safe environment. Our first open mic is a mellow mid-week one on Tuesday 30 January at 7pm in Tully’s Bar.
Come along, sample the atmosphere – and read your work if you dare. To book your slot, contact Deborah on speakupwaterford@gmail.com or 0860648970.
