I’m taking a big step with my newsletter – I’m going paid. Substack offers readers options to take out a paid subscription for a newsletter to get access to exclusive content. The average people pay is €5 a month. If you take a yearly subscription, it’s €50, and that means you get two newsletters for free.
If you like reading my Thursday musings and Monday nuggets, worry not – you’ll still get access to them for free, and you can carry on reading them each week. But if you pay for a subscription, you will get two extra articles a month.
Photo Description: The words Subscribe Now appear in white writing on a blue background.
I’m aiming for these articles to be 1,200-1,500 words long. One will be writing related, on the craft of writing or trends in language and publishing. I want these to be helpful to my fellow writers. The second article will be a piece of memoir or an essay, on topics to be revealed.
Reasons for Paid Newsletter
I have two reasons for choosing to add a paid subscription. One is purely selfish; it will give me an outlet for my writing and a deadline. I want to make sure that I deliver the goods to you loyal, lovely readers.
The second reason I hope is less selfish – I want to reward your loyalty and support with the best writing I can produce, and I hope my articles will entertain and educate you.
Here’s the subscribe button. If you hit that button, it should give you the option to choose a paid plan. Any questions, email me on derbhile@writewords.ie. Happy reading.
