Monday Nugget: Public Lending Right
News about income that can be gained from library loans for your book.
Lately I’ve been getting emails from the British Library about Public Lending Right. Years ago, when I brought out my novel, The Pink Cage, a kindly fellow writer told me about Public Lending Right (PLR) – in other words, the royalties you receive when your book is loaned in a library.
Photo Description: This pic shows wooden bookshelves climbing up to the ceiling. In front of the bookshelf is an orange couch draped with a grey throw rug. There’s a carpet in front of the couch.
Libraries have a certain amount of budget to buy books, so PLR is well worth looking into as an income stream for you as an author. Plus an awful lot of people borrow books from libraries, so you’re opening yourself up to new readers.
