My Play Travels to West Cork
I share the delights that are in store as I bring my show to Clonakilty
The People Wipe Me Train just keeps rolling along. Just nine days after my Clonmel debut I'll be bringing People Wipe Me to West Cork. What can I say – I'm mad for road!
I'll be performing the show at Molly's Café and Wine Bar in Clonakilty on Sunday 24 July, and it promises to be an intimate and fun-filled evening of entertainment – and that's just the food and drink!
This is a picture of Molly’s Cafe. You can see big red and brown couches on a gleaming white floor, a table and shelves full of wine.
Why West Cork?
Clonakilty is the furthest stop on this tour. Why, might you ask, have I inflicted a two-bus journey on myself? I could say it's because my grandfather was from west Cork, so some might say it's my ancestors calling me home.
But actually, it's because of a brilliant group of women I stumbled upon during lockdown called The Lighthearted Women. The Lighthearted Women is a business coaching and support group run by the dynamic Anna Healy.
They have been the sparkling silver lining that emerged from the lockdown clouds. Now I'll get the chance to meet some of them in person.
A Night of Sensual Delights
Here's what's going to happen on the night of the show. You will arrive between 6.30 and 7pm for delicious nibbles to whet your appetite. The show will kick off at 7pm and will last an hour.
After that, there will be a delicious meal, inspired by Molly's famous platters. Molly's also has tonnes of exotic drinks available, of an alcoholic and non-alcoholic stripe.
How To Get Your Tickets
Tickets for this feast of sensual delights are €25. For that, you will get nibbles, the play and the meal – drinks are extra. You pay the €25 on the night.
But you reserve your tickets in advance, because Molly's staff plan the table settings with great care to ensure everyone gets the seat they desire.
To reserve your ticket at Molly's, give them a call on 0873656826 or message them on their Facebook page. Look forward to seeing the West Cork heads I know there and a heartfelt thanks in advance for your support.
I'm also not forgetting the Clonmel souls who want to come to my debut on 15 July at Cluain. Ticket sales are bubbling away nicely and you can pick up and pay for your tickets at Cluain Restaurant. Those tickets are also €25 and also include the price of a meal. More on that next week.
