People Wipe Me Final Fling

writewords.substack.com

Well, it's here at last – my final People Wipe Me Show. And it's happening tonight at Gealach Gorm Theatre at 8pm. By about 9.15 tonight, I'll have banged my drum for the very last time

I didn't think I'd be hanging up my colourdy People Wipe Me T-shirt quite so soon. I thought I'd tour it forever, travelling the highways and byways of Ireland and beyond.

Then I realised that seven shows were enough, and that there are other things I want to write.

Photo Description: Me performing in Wexford, banging my drum and wearing my colourdy People Wipe Me T-shirt

I will be sad to hang up that T-shirt, but I'm ready now to travel to new writing pastures, which I will bore ye all about on this blog.

But just for today, it's showtime.

My Show Routine

Husband Taxi will be busy on the road today. He's bringing the lighting guru out to the theatre first. The lighting guru will spend the day fiddling with lights and climbing ladders. Yes, lighting people have to climb ladders to rig lights. Truly they are heroic.

Then I'll make sure I eat food. I'm not one of those starving artists. I could live off my own body fat, but I'd rather not.

Husband Taxi will drop the theatre guru and I out to Kill. We'll run through some scenes under lights, and use the lovely green chair that Angela Mulcahy of Gealach Gorm has given me to use.

After that, I'll retire to a room, eat three purple skittles, listen to my three lucky songs – and then burst onto the stage in a blaze of light.

I'm going to make sure my last show is a damn fine one. So, if you want to experience it for yourself, you can still book here. See you then, and thanks to you all for coming – and for reading this blog.
