Perform Your Writing Workshop
Workshop in Waterford will help you discover that performing is fun.
Each Monday, I’m going to help you get your writerly week on track by giving you resources that I’ve used and that I can vouch for.
On Saturday 11 November, Speak Up is running a workshop that aims to help writers overcome their nerves and start performing their writing in style. (Full disclosure: I’m co-pilot to Speak Up’s founder, spoken word artist Deborah Somers.)
Photo Description: This is the Speak Up Workshop Poster, which has the red Speak Up Megaphone logo on it and an orange colour scheme. It contains all the info about the workshop and a pic of blonde bombshell Lynda Gough.
Actor Lynda Gough will be the facilitator, and there’s no better woman to instill confidence in nervous performers. I can vouch for that – when I was rehearsing People Wipe Me, she turned me into an Ac-Tor.
By the end of this workshop, your nerves will be transformed into excitement – and you may even discover that performing is fun.
The workshop is happening in Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford City from 11am to 3.30pm and the cost is €55 per person. You can book your place with Speak Up Supremo Deborah Somers on speakupwaterford@gmail.com or 0860648970.
