Writing for Others
This newsletter talks about writing for others and about a new Irish publisher accepting submissions.
Helping Other People To Write
My mission in life is to write, but my mission in life is also to help other people write. I cut down on my workshop activity in recent times to give priority to my own writing. I'm lucky I still do the celebrant and schools workshops, but I miss the interaction, and I still want to help others. I offer a range of one-on-one services to writers, where you'll get individual attention from me at a reasonable price.
I offer my services under the name WriteWords. Here’s my logo, designed by Royce Design. The words Write and Words are on top of each other. The word Write is written in black, like a child’s pencil, while Words is written in blue.
If you have a story idea, I can help you turn that idea into a book. If you've finished your book, I can create a reader's report which will help you move forward with that book. And I don't just help writers; if you're an entrepreneur, I can help you create compelling marketing content and advise you on how to use language effectively.
Have a browse through my WriteWords website to find out more.
Irelandia Press Taking Submissions
Irelandia Press is quite a new publishing press, established in 2023, and it specialises in biographies, but takes a fairly open approach to submissions. You can submit your books to them directly, which is refreshing in an age when most publishers expect you to have an agent. The submission requirements are fairly standard; send in 10,000 words, a covering letter and a synopsis.
You'll find more information about Irelandia Press here.
Waterford Music Success
Waterford Music is just rounding off its spring season of concerts, and the attendances have been really healthy. I've just drafted up a short survey at the request of the chairperson to find out why our attendance has increased so much.
It'll be useful to get some insight into what communications are working. This is an impressive organisation which has run concerts to a very high standard for decades, but the ego-driven part of me hopes that the press releases, newsletters and social media posts I write are making a difference.
Waterford Council Arts Survey: Final Reminder
