Very interesting Derbhile about the Oxford Dictionary of Style. I gave the m/s of my novel to a friend (we had worked together as journalists many years ago) to proofread. She immediately picked up the alright/all right point that you mention. I was amazed!!! I have just finished reading a novel by an Irish novelist, published by Hachette Ireland throughout which all right is spelt as one word!!! Maybe someone should send Hachette a copy of the ODS!
Good luck with your very worthwhile health writing project.
“While it may take time for a project to emerge, I am being offered ongoing training, which will help when I do start a project in this challenging field. I’m on the panel for three years, with an opportunity to extend, so I’m sure a tasty project will emerge.” What an amazing opportunity Derbhile!! I have no doubts either that you will deliver something ‘tasty’. 🙌
Thanks muchly, Margaret. Hope all's well with you.
